The Embodiment of Love

The first letter of John reads more like a poetic sermon than it does a logical argument. John’s appeal to the reader is to remember what they first learned of Jesus when they gave their life to follow Him. We all experience a dip in our passion to follow Him. We all have moments of failure and fall into sin, and yet, we can still have assurance that we belong to Jesus. That assurance comes as we commit to following His commands and His ways by loving our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
